STAGE MANAGER WANTED Wanted

Silver Summit Theatre is seeking a stage manager for our upcoming production of BURIED CHILD by Sam Shepard, directed by Lane Richins.

-Rehearsals begin Sept. 1st and continue through to the show’s open on October 9th.
-The show runs Fri & Sat evenings, and Sunday afternoons through October 25th.
-This is a volunteer opportunity with a small stipend payment of $150.

The stage manager will report to the producers, and work side by side with the director, recording the director’s decisions about blocking and notes for the actors, keeping track of logistical and scheduling details and communicating what goes on in rehearsals to the rest of the team.

Stage manager will own several key responsibilities and tasks, including but not limited to:

-Updating current scheduling in online calendar if needed,
-Running rehearsals,
-Communicating the director’s wishes to designers and crafts people,
-Coordinating the work of any stage crew,
-If cues need to be called the SM will call the show, or be responsible for oversight of another tech op
-Overseeing the entire show each time it is performed
-Insures everyone involved is notified of rehearsal times, meetings, costume/wig fittings, and any additional times actors will be needed (marketing photo shoots, coaching sessions, etc.)
- During the rehearsal mark out the dimensions of the set on the floor of the rehearsal hall
-make sure rehearsal props and furnishings are available for the actors
-attend all rehearsals (unless otherwise arranged in advance)
-notify the designers and crafts people of changes made in rehearsal
