ETHAN: An attractive, impetuously brash twenty-something who literally, and figuratively, who one snowy evening, bursts into the life of Olivia, an attractive older woman who is a gifted but obsure writer. ETHAN, also a writer with a wildly successful book pulled from his very successful sex blog, is already working on the screenplay adaptation and a new literary mobile app. He is comfortable in his skin; sexy, sexual, and charmingly self-effacing just when you want to write him off as hopelessly arrogant; has found instant notoriety and success by blogging about his exploits having sex with strangers, but perhaps harbors deeper ambitions and desires than what meets the eye. He longs to win the respect of the literary world with his own writing; he is a huge fan of Olivia’s published book, idolizes her, and has tracked her down to the rural B&B where she goes to write.
THE STORY:
SEX WITH STRANGERS cuts to the core of lust, love and identity in an era of digital overload.
A raging snowstorm traps strangers College professor, Olivia, a gifted but obscure writer, and Ethan, charming, attractive, and a wildly successful, tech saavy, young blogger, in a secluded B & B. Opposites instantly attract, and undeniable chemistry ignites. As the dawn rises, however, what could have just been a one-night-stand, transforms into something more complex and ongoing. In a world where someone’s existence can be entirely fabricated online, how do we really know who we are letting into our lives, and into our beds?
From one of the writers of House of Cards, Laura Eason, the comedy Sex with Strangers opened in New York in 2014 to great acclaim.
“A play about lust, love and the complex nature of identity in our digital-dominated era.” - The New York Times
“Sexually and intellectually provocative … A HELL OF A LOT OF FUN!” -The Hollywood Reporter
“A bodice ripper with a brain…” -The Washington Post
“Hot, provocative and funny…” -The Miami Herald

Are you still looking for the Professor? Wasn’t clear in the audition posting. The notice only asks for Ethan, and then later says the role of Olivia is not available. My Website contains my resume, but the photos are a little out dated. I have some new shots and haven’t yet updated my site. If you want a current head shot and the professor is still open, send me your e-mail and I’ll send you a current head shot. Sounds like a fun and interesting play.
