Auditions for the Sandy Arts Guild production of “Seussical Jr.” will be held Tuesday, February 23 and Wednesday, February 24, 6:30-9:30 pm at the Sandy City Parks and Recreation Building, 440 East 8680 South. Reserved audition times are recommended, but not required. Those with reserved times will be given priority and walk-ins will be accommodated, if there are available slots. For a reserved audition time, character descriptions and audition forms go to www.sandyarts.com and click on the “Seussical Jr.” window. Callbacks are by invitation and will be at the Theater @ Mount Jordan on Saturday, February 27. Rehearsals will begin on Saturday, March 5. Mandatory rehearsals will begin on Saturday, April 23 and performances will be April 28, 29 and 30.
Needed are boys and girls in 1st – 12th grade. All parts are open. Be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of an up-tempo musical theater piece. An accompanist will be available. Please bring music; no minus tracks or recorded music. The directors have requested that all auditioners bring a list of scheduling conflicts from February 23 through April 30, as well as a current photo and resume.
Please note:
- There is a $20 fee for those cast in the show. If more than one member of a family is cast in the show, the fee for additional family members is $10 each.
- There is a mandatory daytime performance on April 28 that will necessitate missing school.
- The performance on Saturday, April 30 is a matinee.
- Younger cast members will have limited rehearsal and performance time.
- Parents of youth cast in the show are required to serve on a committee AND help with supervision at rehearsals and performances.
- An adult is required to attend the casting meeting the morning of March 5.
