The Empress is excited to present this classic American musical comedy full of romance, laughter and tap dancing, Anything Goes is sure-fire entertainment! The S.S. American, sailing from New York to England, carries an unusual group of passengers. Included amongst them are gangster (Moonface Martin), a wealthy debutante and her mother (Hope and Evangeline Harcourt), a nightclub singer (Reno Sweeny), and a wealthy New York businessman and his stowaway assistant (Billy Crocker). It turns out that Hope is Billy’s long-lost love. Unfortunately, she is now engaged to a wealthy Englishman, Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. One misstep after the other leads our characters in a romantic whirlwind on the high seas that you won’t soon forget.
The show includes Cole Porter’s immortal music such as “You’re the Top”, “Blow, Gabriel Blow”, “I Get a Kick Out of You” and the title song “Anything Goes!”. Most recently revived on Broadway in 2011 and nominated for 9 Tony Awards!
