Hopebox Theatre is taking applications for a Costume Design Assistant and other costuming staff for their upcoming production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Come be a part to of the fun, dive into an exciting production by helping bring your favorite under the sea characters to life.
Auditions will be held June 4. Rehearsals will run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings from 9 – noon. Performances will be August 5 – 20 with matinee and evening performances on Saturdays. Design meetings will begin in late May. We may also participate in various marketing events as well as 4th and 24th of July parades in Kaysville and Farmington.
We are looking for a Costume Design Assistant who has experience in both designing and building costumes. This is a paid position, please contact us for more information. She/He will be expected to be at production design meetings, costume design team meetings, the first rehearsal to get measurements, any costume fittings she/he will be in charge of, designer runs, dress rehearsals, preferably to each performance (this is negotiable) and to closing night to strike the set. This is a makeup and wig heavy show, you may be asked to help with makeup and wig application as needed. Having experience in theatrical makeup/wig design is a bonus, we can train you on what you need to know if needed.
