Senior Actor Needed for “Grace”

Utah Repertory Theater Company, in conjunction with Around the Globe Theatre Company, will be presenting the Utah Premiere of Craig Wright’s “Grace”, April 25 - May 10, at the Sugar Space in Salt Lake City. Directed by JC Carter.

The production is looking to fill the role of Karl, an elderly, immigrant exterminator, with a wry and somewhat cynical view of life. Karl survived the bombing of Hamburg when he was a boy and witnessed (and was forced to commit) atrocities by the Nazis. Despite his tragic beginning, he still has a sense of irony and humor about life. Karl was played by Ed Asner in the recent Broadway production that also starred Paul Rudd and Michael Shannon.

The actor needs to be able act and look like a man in his late 70s - early 80s, and speak with a slight German accent.

Interested parties need to email the director, JC Carter, their resume and a recent photograph (take one with your phone or computer right now) to [email protected] If you look right for the role, JC will send you a copy of the script and arrange a meeting/reading with you some time this week (Feb 24 - 28).

Rehearsals to begin March 1 and will be held in Salt Lake City.
The actor will be paid a per-show stipend, but not a rehearsal stipend.

Please make any and all older gentleman of the theatre that you know aware of this opportunity.
