PG Players to hold Auditions for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”

The Pleasant Grove Players will be holding auditions for their upcoming Christmas show, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” by Barbara Robinson, on Saturday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 27. Children, ages 8-16, will audition on Saturday from 1:00-2:00pm. Adults will audition Saturday from 2:00-3:00pm as well as Tuesday from 7:00-9:00pm. Auditions will be held in the Keith Christeson Theater on the first floor of the PG Library (30 E. Center). Children should come prepared to sing the Christmas carol “Angels We Have Heard on High” or “Silent Night.” Adult auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No appointment is needed. Howard and Kathryn Little will be directing this production.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” also titled “The Worst Kids in the World,” tells the story of six delinquent children surnamed Herdman who lie, steal, smoke cigars and swear. They attend church one Sunday on the promise of snacks and over the protests of church members are cast in the Sunday School’s Christmas play. The results are anything but conventional resulting in the most unusual, but possibly best pageant ever.

Needed are children and adults from age 8 and up.

Performance dates are December 4 – 12, every night except Sunday and Tuesday.
