GOOD COMPANY THEATRE PRESENTS THE UTAH PREMIERE OF THE MUSICAL “THRILL ME: THE LEOPOLD AND LOEB STORY” BY STEPHEN DOLGINOFF

February 12 – 28 | Thursdays - Saturdays at 8pm | Sundays at 4pm

Ogden, Utah-Good Company Theatre is pleased to announce the Utah Premiere of Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story by Stephen Dolginoff.

In 1924, wealthy college students Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb drove up to a young boy on the streets of Chicago and asked him to get into their car. After months of meticulous planning, the two men were about to commit what they reasoned to be the perfect crime—killing the child and hiding his body. It was to be a testament to their superior intellects, and to their consuming devotion to one another. Instead, they ended up imprisoned and separated for life. Through flashbacks, the passionate nature of their relationship and their crime are exposed.

“It’s important to know that this is not your average musical,” states Director Derek Williamson. “Even though it touches on the heavy subject of a real-life kidnapping and murder, it challenges audiences to separate the activity of Leopold and Loeb from what might have been their motives.”

“The small, sparse ensemble of two men and a piano lends an immediacy and an intimacy to Thrill Me,” Musical Director Nicholas Maughan explains. “We bear witness to private moments between two men whose attraction to and repulsion from each other drives them to commit a terrible crime.”

This production features Nick Morris (Forever Plaid, La Cage Aux Folles) as Nathan Leopold and Berlin Schlegel (Glass Menagerie, Plaid Tidings) as Richard Loeb.

New York based playwright Stephen Dolginoff received Drama Desk Award nominations for Best Musical and Best Score, as well as the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical for the original run of Thrill Me. The show won the ASCAP Award for Best Score.

Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story contains pervasive adult themes, including the dramatization of arson and murder. Discretion is strongly advised. Tickets are available for $17 online at goodcotheatre.com, and at the door before each performance.
