“The Rocky Horror Show” Auditions

Midvale Main Street Theatre will be holding audition for their autumn 2017 musical: THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW.

When: Friday June 30, 2017
Time: 6:00pm-8:30pm

Callbacks (by invitation): Sunday July 2, 2017 – 4:00pm

The show contains adult content. You must be 18 or older to audition.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of music in the style of the show. Please bring music on a CD or phone/iPod. ***NO ACCOMPANIST WILL BE AVAILABLE***

“THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW is the world-wide cult phenomenon with music, lyrics and book by Richard O’Brien. A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s through early 1970s, the musical tells the story of Brad and Janet, a newly engaged couple, getting caught in a storm and stumbling upon the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Frank N. Furter, unveiling his new creation, a muscle man named Rocky Horror. With such hits as Time Warp and Sweet Transvestite, The Rocky Horror Show is the perfect show for Halloween season.”

A transvestite from the planet Transexual in the galaxy of Transylvania.Male

Age: 20′s – 40′s

MAGENTA
A very strange servant of Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter. Big and sexy stage presence. Riff Raff’s Sister.

Mezzo/Alto
Age: 20’s – 40′s

COLUMBIA
One of Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter’s groupies. Strong character actor, tap dancing a plus.

ROCKY HORROR
The result of one of the Dr. Frank’s experiments: “The perfect man”.

Age: 20′s – 30′s (based of bodily physique)

EDDIE & DR. SCOTT
Eddie is a rock star delivery guy who “went to pieces” while Dr. Scott is an older gentleman, a rival scientist, in a wheelchair. (The parts will most likely be single cast)
Male or Female (Part is male but can be played by either gender)
Baritone/Tenor or Mezzo/Alto
Age: 20′s – 40′s

CRIMINOLOGIST
The Narrator who guides us through the show.
Male or Female
No singing (except for a little speak singing)
Age: Any (18 or over)

TRANSYLVANIANS
Singers/actors of all ethnicities who are strong rock singers. Dance experience important.
