Disney’s The Little Mermaid

Auditions for the Sandy Arts Guild’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid will be held on Monday, May 2, Tuesday May 3 and Thursday, May 5 from 7-9:30 pm. A “dancer only” audition will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 9:30 AM (please sign up for a “dancer only” audition time). Callbacks are by invitation on Saturday, May 7 and will run all day. The show plays at the Sandy Amphitheater August 5-13. Nolan Mitchell is directing. Mark Pearce is the music director and Jann LeVitre is the choreographer.

Roles are available for males age 12 and older and females age 14 and older. All roles are open. Needed are actors/actresses who can move well, as well as dancers and tap dancers. Some roles will require ability to move & dance on heelys. Please be prepared with a 32-bar cut of music similar to the style to the show. Please bring music properly marked with starting and ending points or minus tracks. An accompanist and equipment to play CDs and iPods will be available.

The directors have requested that all those auditioning bring a list of scheduling conflicts between May 31 and August 13, a current photo and resume.

All auditions and callbacks will be held at the Sandy Parks and Recreation building, 440 East 8680 South, Sandy, UT. Reserved audition times are recommended, but not required. Those invited to callbacks will need to wear comfortable clothes to dance in. If auditioning for a seagull (including Scuttle) auditioners should be prepared to tap. If auditioning for the roles of Flounder, Ariel, Flotsam, Jetsam or Mersisters, the director will need to see your ability to move on heelys, rollerblades or roller skates. Be prepared to bring them, if you have them.
