Auditions for the Sandy Arts Guild’s production of Freaky Friday will be done by on-line submission. Audition videos, audition forms, resumes and photos are due on Monday, May 3 by 10:00 p.m.. Callbacks will be the week of May 17. The show will run July 30 – August 14. Stephanie Chatterton Jessup is the director/choreographer. Karen Chatterton is the assistant choreographer. Music direction is by Stephanie Bare.
Needed are women and men 14 and older, and a boy 10-14 with an unchanged voice. All roles are open. We are looking for a diverse cast in a variety of body sizes, styles, and ethnicities.
To be considered for the cast, please complete the following by Monday, May 3:
- Submit a video of yourself singing no more than 60 seconds of a post-1990 contemporary musical theatre, or similarly-styled, song. Please use a backing track and show us what you can do! Many backing tracks available on YouTube, Apple Music, karaoke-version, etc. Voices of all types are essential for this show! The character descriptions can be viewed by clicking here.
- Complete an audition Google form by clicking here.
- Submit a resume.
- Submit a current photo.
- Send the video, resume and photo to sagshows@gmail.com.
Callbacks will be held May 22, by invitation only. Dancing, singing, and cold reading from the script may be part of the call back. If invited to the call back, please prepare accordingly.
It is very important to give an accurate list of your conflicts on the audition Google form. Rehearsals can be any weeknights from 6-10 pm and Saturdays during the day from June 1 – July 29. Performances are July 30, 31, August 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 12, 13 and 14 at 7:30 pm.
Please note: If you are eligible, being vaccinated for Covid-19 is highly recommended for the safety of everyone in the production. Masks will be worn during rehearsals. During performances, masks will not be worn on stage, but they will be required when off stage.
