Dickens Festival Street Theatre

Hi there!

The Dickens Festival is getting ramped up for a great festival this year, and we are booking Acts and Street Characters this year. The Dickens Festival runs:

December 6-8th

10 AM – 9 PM

SouthTown Expo Center

9575 S State St, Sandy, UT 84070

I am looking for:

  1. Characters from any of Charles Dicken’s books to interact with guests reinforcing the overall atmosphere. Characters would give directions and interact with guests. You can find a great list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dickensian_characters
  2. Small acts (a cappella singing (quartets, soloists, etc.), instruments, short scenes, story tellers, puppet shows, balloon artists, face painting, juggling) and skills of any kind to interact with guests.

TICKETS: For every 3 hours you volunteer; you will receive one ticket to give to friends/family to attend the Festival or so you can come back another day to attend the Festival yourself.

CHARACTER/ACTS: The time period to keep in mind for your acts and characters is 19th Century London. It is also around the December holidays, so as many music/scenes that can be pulled from that time period/holiday are highly encouraged.

COSTUMES: We have a costumer that can assist with costumes as needed, but whatever you can pull yourselves the more comfortable you may be. Because we use the costumes in St. George the weekend before, costumes will not be available till the week of and I will keep you apprised of the times those are ready. You can rent pieces for $5 apiece and it will be fully refunded upon return of the costume. If you are able to get shoes and a white button shirt we can provide the rest!

Please let me know if you have any questions and I hope to get you in our schedule for this great event!

One Response to Dickens Festival Street Theatre

  1. M says:

I tried two different sources to try and contact you. One was through a website (that hasn’t responded back ) and the other through facebook which put me in touch with the St. George one instead of Salt Lake. How would I best go about contacting you for the Salt Lake Festival and find out what characters are still available?
