The Midvale Arts Council will be holding auditions for their summer presentation: Chess the Musical, in Concert. Auditions will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. at the Midvale Performing Arts Center 695 West Center Street (7720 South) in Midvale, Utah. Audition appointments can be made by visiting www.midvalearts.com.
Chess in Concert will be presented in conjunction with Rocky Mountain Reader’s Theater under the direction of Justin Bills and Cecily Ellis-Bills. Auditioners interested in a solo/lead part should come prepared with a song from the show. Auditioners interested in chorus roles are encouraged to sing 32 bars of something from the show as well, but are welcome to sing anything. Accompanist will be provided; please have your music marked in advance. Minus track and acapella are not allowed. If you cannot make it to auditions please send a link of your YouTube audition along with completed audition form and headshot to [email protected] no later than July 13, 2016. Solo/lead parts available for 9 male, 2 female, and 1 youth female. A chorus will be used for the show as well. Sheet music will be used during performances; memorization and acting is not required.
Performances for this show are August 11-13, 2016. This production is being presented in concert as a Fundraiser to raise funds for facility upgrades. Rehearsals will be held August 1 – August 10. Because of the limited rehearsal schedule we respectfully request that participants be over 16 years old. Youth participants must have adult present at all rehearsals and performances.
