Audition Notice for Contemporary - Advanced Play Production Class Auditions

IMG_0059Once a year Acting Out Loud offers an incredible performance opportunity to actors wanting to learn while they receive stage and performance time. I’m writing to invite you to take part in our production this spring.

Feb. 22, 2014 Acting Out Loud will be holding auditions for the annual Advance One Act Play Production Class. Tuition is $185

Students 8yrs – Adults may audition for a spot in the class.

Since this production is taught annually the type of show rotates: contemporary, Shakespeare, musical.

We will be performing a Contemporary Play in 2014 – Plays such as The Diviners, Our Town, The Miracle Worker, and Hold on to June come to mind as great choices. After auditions I will scour contemporary scripts to find the one that will best feature each actor and provide awesome character opportunities for the whole cast.

Last Year we triumphed in producing our musical Rapunzel by Kristen Walters. The script and music were both beautifully written. Each actor met the challenge of portraying their characters truthfully with humor and courage. Exclusive performances in our studio enhanced the experience for both actors and the audience.

In 2012 our production of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing was a huge success. It was amazing to see how the actors took to their roles learning and spouting Shakespeare’s prose and verse as if they had been raised speaking it.

In 2011 we produced two Thorton Wilder One Acts. I was thrilled with the progress each actor made and it was so fun to have them performing on a big stage at Copper Hills High School.

This year’s venue is yet to be determined it will be chosen to best meet needs of the actors and production.

Classes will be on Saturdays in the afternoon for 2-3 hours March 19-May 10, 2014.
