The Empress Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”!
Auditions will be held on Tues. February 24th and Thurs. February 26th from 7pm-9pm. At the theater 9104 W. 2700 S. Magna Utah. Callbacks will be held on Sat. February 28th. by invitation only.
Auditioners should come prepared with a minus track and one minute of a song in the style of the show. We prefer no A’Capella singing & no accompanist is provided.
Auditions are open to those of all ages, families are encouraged to audition together! All roles are open! The show may be double cast at the discretion of the director, Melissa Jensen.
Performances run April 24, 2015 – May 16, 2015, on Monday, Friday and Saturday nights, with a Saturday afternoon matinee on May 2, 2015.
Take a fantastic musical adventure with an out-of-this-world car that flies through the air and sails the seas. Based on the beloved 1968 film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book, and featuring an unforgettable score by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is one family-friendly blockbuster that audiences will find “Truly Scrumptious”.
An eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts sets about restoring an old race car from a scrap heap with the help of his children Jeremy and Jemima. They soon discover the car has magical properties including the ability to float and take flight. Trouble occurs when the evil Baron Bomburst desires the magic car for himself. The family joins forces with Truly Scrumptious and batty Grandpa.

Tyrannical ruler of Vulgaria and a lover of toys. A man-child, he is very immature, needy, and whiney.

BORIS A member of the two-person Vulgarian gang that works for the Baron and Baroness. Though he is not very smart, he is the leader.
