The Ziegfeld Theater announces open auditions for the original parody musical, “A Fairly Potter Christmas Carol,” music, lyrics, and book by Rick Rea. The production performs Dec 4-23. Directed by Morgan Parry.
AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. READ THIS ENTIRE NOTICE BEFORE SCHEDULING YOUR AUDITION.
Many roles are available including Harry, Ron, Hermione, The Sorting Hat, Dobby, and several other professors and student roles. Several roles are available for ALL ages 7+, including many speaking/solo roles. The show will be single-cast however double-casting will be considered for certain roles if needed.
The following roles have been pre-cast with actors from the original production: Dumbledore, Voldemort, Wormtail/Hagrid, Nagini, Draco, Luna, Snape, McGonagall, and “Magic.”
This show is a volunteer opportunity, however gas stipends may be available for actors carpooling from 25+ miles south of Ogden (Bountiful, SLC, and beyond).
Auditions (by appointment only) will be held starting at 7 PM on Wednesday, September 23rd. Invitation only callbacks will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 2 PM. (If you are absolutely unavailable to audition on these dates, let us know in the online audition form)
For the audition, bring a printed copy of your resume and a headshot or recent picture. Prepare a 30-60 second selection from a comedic Broadway song in the style of the show; if possible, sing in a British accent. Accompanist provided; sheet music required.
***Please no CD’s, mp3’s, or a cappella auditions. You are welcome to sing a selection from the show, but please bring a second, contrasting audition selection from a different musical (which we may or may not ask you to sing).***
Rehearsals will begin in early October. Until the week before opening week, there will usually be 4 weekday rehearsals and 1 Saturdayrehearsal per week. Performances are Dec 4-23, Every Monday, Friday and Saturday evening, plus performances Tues and Wed the 22-23. There are 2 PM matinees every Saturday.
