Okay, so I've decided to start a podcast.  I'd like it to be a somewhat interesting/entertaining series of interviews that I have with people I know FOR people I know.

It's really just an exercise I want to do to get to know the people I know a little better, discussing common interests, debate points of view whether religious, philosophical, or just compare tastes in movies and music.

Anyway, I have a producer who can arrange server room for me etc.. but I don't know anything about the software involved.

I have a computer with a microphone... and garage band.  What else do I need?

What's a good ftp client to use?

Filezilla, hands down.

From what (little) I know about podcasts, as far as hardware goes, you're pretty much set. You can get fanicier, but when you're down to bare bones, a mic and a digital recorder are the only essentials.

Of course it doesn't hurt to have a theme song or two. And an image to go with the podcast - preferably of scantily-dressed gentlemen, but that may just be the kind of podcast company I keep and not the norm....

There is one thing you never put in a trap, if you're smart - if you value your continued existence - if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow there is one thing you never EVER put in a trap. Me.

Listen, I don't know what sort of kids you've been flying around with in outer space, but you're not telling me to shut up!

As long as I don't bleed or cry, I'll do it!

Is it a sekrit joke I don't get? Why would you choose that name? I'm curious to know before I vote and all.

Sort of.  Aside from sounding pretty good as a "Name" for something (my friend runs a podcast called 'respect the danger of knives') it's in honor of Tina Fey's character on 30 Rock, Liz Lemon.

I'm still not convinced. Can anyone talk me into one of them?

Hell, I'll vote for Liam Lime. Any allusion to 30 Rock gets my vote. Cheesy

I love "30 Rock", but I don't get it. is it specific to an episodeIi missed?

Nothing specific.  Just a play on her character name because I love her so.

Okay, so the benefit of the Liam Lime name:

It is original
Has a good story (like a band name)
Would be easy to promote and make a logo for.

Drawbacks:

Obscure
people wouldn't get it

Benefits of Ender's Game:

I'm ender, and it would be my game.  so that's clever.

sharing a name with a well known book might bring more traffic

Draw backs

It is not original

It might be misleading as to the content of the show

I don't particularly want to be associated with OSC at the moment.
