Our office does a thing every Valentine's Day where every person picks a love song and then a mix gets compiled and it's fun and awesome!

Except I feel like I know too many awesome love songs and I don't know what song to choooooose. CRY.

The choice is obvious. "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas.

There. Problem solved. Smiley

Grin I know, right. I was going to go with "I'm Never Gonna Dance Again" by Wham! but I figured I should try to choose a song people will actually want to listen to.

(I would use "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel but um everyone would know I was being dead serious because I love that song. It would not be "funny".)

If we're going to die, let's die looking like a Peruvian folk band.

Or you could go all stalker-ish, and use "Every Breath You Take."

I definitely considered the Police, you betcha. YOU BETCHA.

(I eventually caved and used something really sweet and cute: "I Don't Know" by Lisa Hannigan. So there is that. I lost my chance to be funny but the song is adorable. Cheesy)

Is it really too much to ask for something to work out the way I thought it would, just once?  I've given up on a lot of long-term planning, just because it's so disappointing when things don't work out according to plan.  I thought I'd gotten things down to where I had reasonable goals in my own control, not plans that required other people's actions and choices.  But even these things don't work out.

I give up.

That's it, I give up.

If I don't expect anything to ever work out for me again, I won't be disappointed when it doesn't.

Blarg. Our babysitter's quitting. Anyone want to babysit an adorable six-month-old part-time in Austin, TX?

Cheeky! I totally would! If you lived in Utah I would. I love kids/babies! Sorry I can't be of help though!

Made up holiday.
