MMST You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown Auditions

MMST is excited to announce it’s upcoming auditions for our first show of our 2020 season, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.

Auditions will be held on November 11, 2019 from 7-9 p.m at the Midvale Main Street Theatre (7711 South Main Street – 700 West). Auditions are open, and we will see auditioners in the order that they arrive. Callbacks will be by invitation only on the night of November 15th.

All roles are open. Ages 16 & up are welcome to audition. Please prepare 16-32 bars of music in the style of the show. Please bring music on a CD or phone/iPod. No accompanist will be available.

Show dates: Jan. 23, 24, 25, 27, 30, 31, and Feb. 1 and 3, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. with additional 2 p.m. matinees each Saturday.

“Happiness is great musical theatre! With charm, wit, and heart, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN explores life through the eyes of Charlie Brown and his friends in the Peanuts gang. This revue of songs and vignettes, based on the beloved Charles Schulz comic strip, is the ideal first show for those who would like to do a musical. Musical numbers include “My Blanket and Me,” “The Kite,” “The Baseball Game,” “Little Known Facts,” “Suppertime,” and “Happiness.” Guaranteed to please audiences of all ages!”

Linus (Baritone): Lucy’s brother, Linus always carries a blanket as his security and comfort. He is usually mild, but can become quite vocal and aggressive if someone takes his blanket.

Charlie Brown (Baritone): Five years old, Charlie Brown has very little self confidence and does not succeed at anything, even though he keeps trying. He is a kind and generous person.

Sally (Soprano): Despite being portrayed as innocent and adorable, she is noticeably intelligent for her age and this precociousness contributes to the humor of the series.

Schroeder (Tenor) : A virtuoso piano player with a child’s mind and body, Schroeder is a disciple of Beethoven. Although Lucy is infatuated with him, he sees her mainly as a nuisance.

Snoopy (Male or Female – Tenor): Although he is Charlie Brown’s dog, Snoopy many times has more wisdom and human qualities than the people around him.

Lucy (Alto) : Linus’s big sister, Lucy is a tough girl and always wants her way. She is infatuated with Schroeder.
