Looking for a group of 9-10 adult actors (minimum age: 16) to create a tight, fun, creative ensemble! This production will feature imaginative staging, live sound effects, puppetry, and characters that are both endearing and hilarious!

About the play: Lilly loves riding her bike, wearing band-aids to make her look tough, and speaking her secret backwards language with best friends, Chester & Wilson. But when Lilly has to share the spotlight with her new baby brother Julius, she doesn’t feel so loving. And when no one pays attention to her fabulous new purple plastic purse, Lilly’s fury leads to revenge and she must set out to make amends.
*The play is based off of the following three children’s books by Kevin Henkes: Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse, Julius Baby of the World, and Chester’s Way
CHARACTERS Include:
Lilly-A young mouse with lots of spunk and a huge imagination! Throw in a bit of drama and lots of pizazz, and that’s Lilly-the self proclaimed “Queen of the World”!
Chester-Wilson’s best friend. Loves making his bed and practicing his bicycle safety hand signals.
Wilson-Chester’s best friend. Loves croquet and double knotting his shoe laces.
Mother-Lilly and Julius’ mother. She encourages Lilly’s imagination and even occasionally joins in…until Julius arrives and steals her attention.
Father-Lilly and Julius’ father. Loving and fun, but preoccupied with the new baby.
Mr. Slinger-Lilly’s school teacher who wears artistic shirts, teaches about cheese and is not afraid of a little interpretive dance!
Garland-Lilly’s cousin, who once won an adorable baby contest and now she won’t let anyone forget it!
Also: Students, FBI Agents, Bullies, store clerks, giant cats, Julius etc.
