Auditions for the Sandy Arts Guild production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. will be held Wednesday, January 22, Friday, January 24 from 6-9 pm and Saturday, January 25 1-3 pm at Sandy Parks and Recreation, 440 East 8680 South. Reserved audition times are recommended, but not required. For a reserved audition time, character descriptions and audition forms go to www.sandyarts.com and click on the Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. window. Callbacks are at the same location on Saturday, February from 1:30 to 5:30 pm.
Needed are boys and girls ages 5-18. All parts are open. Be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of an up-tempo musical theater piece. An accompanist will be available. Please bring music; no minus tracks or recorded music. Also, be prepared to learn a short dance combination. The directors have requested that all auditioners bring a list of scheduling conflicts from January 25 to April 12, as well as a current photo and resume.
Please note:
- The state high school drama competition will conflict with a performance. If you will be participating in that event, please do not audition for the show.
- There is a $20 fee for those cast in the show. If more than one member of a family is cast in the show, the fee for additional family members is $10 each.
- There is a mandatory daytime performance on week we are performing that will necessitate missing school.
- The performance on Saturday, April 12 is a matinee.
- Cast members ages 5-9 will have limited rehearsal time. They will be in 2-4 numbers. Their rehearsals will be early in the evening or on Saturday afternoons.
- Parents of youth cast in the show are required to serve on a committee AND help with supervision at rehearsals and performances.
- An adult is required to attend the casting meeting.
