Yep. I'm killing the boards, for several reasons...

1. Unlike the old PlayersAnonymous days, the boards are just not used for communication and/or community any longer. They're "so 5 years ago".

2. The Backstage Utah group on Facebook (ask to join) is more active than these boards.

3. The #!($@#&* spammers!

4. I'm moving the base for the entire site from HTML5 to Wordpress (which I currently use for the reviews section). Don't worry, the site is not becoming a blog, there will still be standard pages. I'm just switching to use Wordpress for content management.

You will still be able to post your auditions, show announcements, and/or theatre classifieds for free, but will not have the instant gratification of the post being there when you hit "post message", as we will actively approve every posting to prevent the spam we've had of late. And, like a blog post, readers will be able to comment with questions.

I'll have more information as I get further along in the conversion, but the goal is to switch over before the first of the year.

This is clearly taking longer than anticipated, and I've had to consult with a Word Press professional to help me. However, thanks to my amazing moderators, the spammers are being squelched.

Y'all have been doing a good job of spammer-squelching (Nobody spams the board you have to pay to access, so I won't take any credit for that).

My skills are as varied as they are impractical.

HA! So I posted this last year with every intention of converting the site and handling the spammers. But that project turned out to be more daunting than I originally thought. At this point, however, I still want to kill the posting boards (and spammers), and post auditions, show announcements and help wanted in a different way. So coming soon... not sure how soon... those wanting to post will be emailing me, and I'll be posting their announcements on a different system (which allows comments, etc.). Sometime next year, I'll have a system that will bypass emailing me, but will have to be approved by me.
