Draper Historic Theatre announces the opening of the world premiere Christmas play
Young Santa Claus and the Winter Solstice
, a fantasy/adventure in the vein of� The Polar Express and the Harry Potter stories.
Kris Kringle, the orphaned son of a kindly toy maker, is chosen by the faeries and elves of the North Pole to learn the magical art of toy making and become Santa Claus, the symbol of peace, joy and giving. But first, he and his friend Anya, along with the elves Flick and Ruafel, must face the cruel and evil Snow Queen, and her minions Black Peter and Jack Frost. If the Snow Queen is not defeated by the end of Winter Solstice, the magic of Christmas will be lost forever.

Young Santa Claus
is written and directed by Paul & Patrick� Gibbs, who also appear as the elves Ruafel and Flick. Kris Kringle is played by Parker Rideout, with Madison Schaerr taking on the role of Anya, his best friend. The evil Snow Queen is played by Alexa Rideout, with Nathan Jones as Jack Frost,� Dave Nilson as Black Peter, and Sierra Pogue as the faerie Princess Aurora Borealis.
Costume Design is by Mary Rino, and set design and painting is by Carolyn Richardson, and choreography by Breannon Orr. Chelsey Richardson is the production Stage Manager.
