What fictional character's death made you the most angry/seemed the most pointless?

I admit that I like death in stories.  Like Joss Whedon, when I write I don't shy away from tragedy, but rather try to include it.  Maybe it's because of the amount of death I experienced when i was young, it just seems real to me.

That having been said, I don't like when people kill off characters just because they are tired of dealing with them.

Uh, no specifics, other than Valerie from Hogan's Family.

Cyclops in X-Men 3, as I pointed out in the other thread. he died only because Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry were more popular, despite the fact that he was integral to the story in a way Storm certainly was not. And he wasn't even given a dramatic, meaningful death. Just 15 minutes of moping followed by an off camera kablooie.

Incidentally, the most utterly indifferent I have ever been to the death of a fictional character was when Ronald Reagan died.

Ianto Jones.  No reason, no point.  Any character development given to Jack due to it, could have been done another way.  Pointless.

Listen, I don't know what sort of kids you've been flying around with in outer space, but you're not telling me to shut up!

As long as I don't bleed or cry, I'll do it!

Eh, for me it was Paul Ballard in Dollhouse. It was irritating, it was done quickly with little emotional resonance, I even tend to forget that they did it when I look back on the series. The results were emotionally flat and also really messed up-- even more than the show's norm. That particular character death was not a favorite o' mine in regards to Joss.
