For some reason, I blame Mister A for the fact that the series ends there.

I think I know why.  I blamed me too.

It was a great cliffhanger ending, it's just that, as I've mentioned before, I question the likelihood of getting the actors back together for another season.

I loved the tweaked literary references on this episode, like "I am lost without my blogger."

Oh that's already a done deal.

That was BEFORE Martin Freeman signed on to spend the next couple of years tromping through New Zealand/Middle Earth, starting in January. When can they fit this in?

True, but the word I heard is that it proved so popular in Britain that I doubt they'd give up on it so easily. I'm sure he'll arrange his schedule.
Edit: In fact, the DVDs were just released today, and they're already backordered by a month on Amazon.  Dumb Me for not pre-ordering...

You're talking about the DVDs of Season One, right?

I agree, the producers wouldn't want to give up on it easily, but a lot depends on whether Freeman and CUmberbatch are under contract. Freeman's Hobbit commitment is huge, and while Cumberbatch has finished shooting War Horse, he's got the new film version of John Le Carre's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and playing Dr. Frankenstein on the London stage before he can get around to Sherlock again.

We'll see what happens. At the very least, I expect a bit of a wait.

Watched the first episode of this last night. Paused it in the middle and insisted that CanadaAlex watch it along with me. By the end, we were both squeaking and squealing and being generally fangirly.

I think it's safe to say we'll be continuing on here. Grin

I've downloaded them all, but my computer cratered during the first one and is currently being re-imaged, so it will be a few days before I get to watch these.

Great stuff. I can't wait to talk more about it once y'all are caught up.

Particularly the last scene of the last episode....
