Dark Horse is considering it. It's on their list that audience members can vote on for their next show.

The question is, will it draw an audience?

From Wikipedia (the only true source of information on the Web....):

The musical dramatizes the 1913 trial of Jewish factory manager Leo Frank, who was accused and convicted of raping and murdering a thirteen-year-old employee, Mary Phagan. The trial, sensationalized by the media, may have aroused some anti-Semitic tensions in Atlanta and the U.S. state of Georgia. When Frank's death sentence was commuted to life in prison by the departing Governor of Georgia, John M. Slaton due to his detailed review of over 10,000 pages of testimony and possible problems with the trial, Leo Frank was transferred to a prison in Milledgeville, Georgia, where a lynching party seized and kidnapped him. Frank was taken to Phagan's hometown of Marietta, Georgia, and he was hanged from an oak tree. The events surround the investigation and trial led to two groups emerging, the revival of the defunct KKK and the birth of a premier Jewish Civil Rights organization. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was formed in response to the anti-Semitism surrounding Leo Frank's trial and lynching.

(Sorry, that's way more than 50 words. Epic fail....   Smiley)

I'm not familiar with the musical, but the story is suprememely compelling. The 1980s TV minsieries  The Murder of Mary Phagan(which starred Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey, Peter Gallagher and Charles S. Dutton) was superb.

Hmmm... I'd have to hear the music, but I do like the story. If Pinnacle doesn't scoop me (again), I may have suggest it to my artistic director.

The music was done by Jason Robert Brown, and has some of the most incredibly compelling songs I have heard in musical theater: "All the Wasted Time," "How Can I Call This Home," "This is Not Over Yet," the list continues.

The show could be done in Utah, AND cater to audiences if done properly.  To appeal to the conservative crowds in the state, the subject matter would need to be either edited, or tastefully represented; no "shock factor" stuff.  The music is unbelievable!  Listen to the soundtrack and you will be hooked!
