Just got this from DHT via Facebook:

Quote:
Our theatre was vandalized last night. All windows and glass doors in front of the building were smashed out. We do have video surveillance which we will be releasing shortly. We ask any parties who may have information on the vandalism to contact Draper City Police at 801-576-6300. Donations to help us meet the $1000 deductible to replace the glass are GREATLY needed and appreciated.

This is atrocious.

And I'm curious too-- I saw it on the news the other night and they said it's going to take $10,000 to fix. Or is the $1000 deductible the real number? Either way, this sucks so much.

Do we have any more information about how to donate?

As I understand it (through my friend, the grapevine), the total damage is valued at $10,000.00.  The company has a $1,000.00 deductible on their insurance policy.  They are trying to raise the $1,000.00, but don't have that much in ready cash.

Information on how to contribute can be ffound on the theater's home page, http://www.drapertheatre.org/

More from Friend Grapevine:

There is a suspect, but the police have not been able to track him down as of yet.  Apparently, if the information i have is accurate, it was not a random act of violence, either.  But as that information is just rumor at this point, I don't think it's appropriate for me to say more at this time.

Please do say more though, when it IS appropriate.  I'm so fascinated by the type of person who would specifically, non-randomly target and vandalize a theatre.

If there is more information that is apporopriate to share, it might help them be able to track down a suspect.  I heard there was surveillance video?

Just went to the facebook page and watched the surveillance video.  Any word on a motive?  I'm curious too.  Is it someone who is specifically angry against the theatre?  If so, why?  Curious - it's all a mystery to me and now I want to solve it!  Too much CSI, I guess.

I don't know anything that the police don't already know.  Yes, there was a surveillance video, which helped identify the "person of interest."  Attempts have been made to get this person's parents to persuade him to turn himself in.  I haven't heard if they have been successful as of yet.
