i just saw the list on facebook--both penny's were initially cast as belle, so that part wasn't open. that's really the only non-ensemble part i could have played, so that might have been nice to know ahead of time...

Totally not impressed by how this was run. I attended the auditions, was told (unexpectedly) that calls would be made by 3:30 if we had made callbacks, and surprise! Callbacks would be at 4 that evening. Didn't receive a call until 4 which by then I was already on my way home.

At callbacks was told a cast list would be post on the doors to the building, on Rivertons website, and on their facebook page by 5 on monday

Checked all day monday and at 5:45 found a cast list on facebook (not anywhere else) saw I was on it (yay) but saw that first rehearsal was at 6:30 that night. The producer Dan had left an email on there to contact him if we had a problem, so I emailed him and never heard back from him nothing. I called Tyson the guy that made this original thread and left a voicemail, and also, never heard back from him.

No calls were made, no emails were sent out, and turns out I was not the only one who was being given the run around. Suffice to say I turned down the part.

This is not being run very well.

Ditto to the above post.� I did not feel that the auditioners' time was respected at all.� I love theatre, and so I try to fit it into my busy life whenever I can.� If a production staff cannot be straightforward and firmly committed to a schedule, then unfortunately it's not a gig I can be a part of.

Ok, yet another audition gripe session in which I feel the need to say - "Deal with it". Geez people what do you think this is, your ward primary class where everyone gets a turn? It's called theatre. People usually do their best to run a fair audition and casting process. If you didn't get cast it's not because of anything the directing crew did - maybe it's cuz you just weren't right for the show this time. I don't want to be mean, cuz maybe you're new to the theatre world - so I say, instead of posting disgruntled comments and making yourself look bad - just buck up - put a smile on your face and kick butt at your ensemble role, the good parts will come - OR get excited for your next audition where maybe there is a part that's perfect for you - there's always another show to try for.

And now, to my actual reason for posting here - Are you going to post a cast list? If not, it's ok - I'd just kind of like to see a cast list, who is performing which days, etc. so I can put it on my calendar. I'm excited to come to the show - this will be a fun one to see I'm sure. Grin

I don't think anyone that has posted so far was complaining persay about not being cast. Honestly, I attended the auditions, got called back for Tracy, ended up being cast (not as Tracy), and I am still not sure how this show is going to turn out. From an insiders point of view, this is a hot mess.
I can understand being unorganized for a callback, and I also understand that Riverton had the rights for Beauty and the Beast taken away so they scrambled with this one.
But I too placed phone calls and emails to the people mentioned and to this day still have yet to receive a reply. To my knowledge there is no stage manager, and because of that things are just out of control. I really do want this show to go well since it is my last show in Utah, but everything that the "guest" posted is true.

I do believe it is a waste of time if you don't start rehearsals on time, don't give out a proper schedule, or inform people of what is going to be happening at rehearsals.

As for the Bells being cast as Penny. Ummmm, they announced that the people that got cast orginally in Beauty in the Beast could be in the ensemble or would have to audition again to get a part. I doubt they were precast, our Pennys are adorable and are as sweet as can be. They have got some knock out talent. And speaking of which, our Tracy is amazing and if she can do it, she should be single cast like she is. She is really great!

So yes, unless you are in the cast, don't bitch and moan about the casting decisions, cause I think it was done fantastic, and I really do enjoy this cast. Maybe not the way it is being run.....but you can't have everything your way.

If you want respect from the cast or from people, you as the director or staff need to show respect back.

But that is the age old complant on these forums right? lol!

Unwritten-This is the cast list, however, since it has been posted a lot of people have dropped out. They have not really assigned casts yet as far as I know. However, it is possible that they have and have just not announced it to all of us. I know that the featured vocalists have been split up officially.

With the exception of Velma, the first name listed is in the Mon, Fri, Sat Mat cast and the second name plays Tue, Thur, Sat Eve
