The common idea that casting regulars means roles were pre-cast is a specious leap in logic.

IIIIIIIII love you.

And yay Rachel! She's so ridic talented. She's the only one I know in the cast, although I'm familiar with other names. Sweet cast!

And, as for it being a waste of your time...somebody I know was telling me about a friend who moved to New York and did nothing but audition for a period of several months without ever getting cast.Since they didn't get to do any "real" performing, they took every audition as an opportunity to perform.Which it is.And a callback is usually an opportunity to work with other actors.None of that is a waste of your time.

That is an awesome way of looking at things. I totally dig

Cried for continuous hours
Yelled and screamed for help
A girl who turned her back on the world
and a girl who did nothing but love someone.

I didn't mean to imply that every audition is a waste of time-- every person in the world will get rejected more often than they'll get cast, and I understand that. I guess I was just a bit frustrated in a selfish, sort-of, "I told you so" kinda way when the casting went the way I thought it might before auditions were even held. My attitude is my own problem though, and I see that... Workin' on it. Smiley Thanks for the insights. It will be a good show, no doubt.

And two points for using the word "specious".

I sympathize very much. The frustrations involved in auditioning are one of the reasons I don't act any more.

Just got back from seeing this show, and may I just say that I am a new woman!? Seriously. This show was ridiculously amazing.

Audra....I didn't even know that anyone could be so amazing. I've honestly never seen a performance like hers in my life. Never. Her fabulous voice aside...she was SO honest and focused and energized and uninhibited. I feel like a better performer after just WATCHING her.

I also loved the performances of Jared Young, Rachel Woodward and Marvin Payne. Great show with a great cast and great movement and choreography. If you don't have tickets, you should probably steal some from someone or something in order to see this. Seriously worth it!

Same.

And I thought Kevin Goertzen was amazing.  I can't believe I haven't seen him perform before now.
