Aren't some of the cast members going to BYU?

What if they are? Are you on the morality policing squad?

I love Spiker. Sometimes when you post stuff like this I can almost hear the "BITCH?!" echoing at the end.

First: "What if they are? Are you on the morality policing squad?"

You're funny.

How you would jump to conclusions of me being the morality police... when I have not even hinted that I am... I haven't even said things like, "Oh dear! I am ashamed!" Or any lame thing like that.
Makes me laugh.

Second: I was asking because I thought that It was inspiring that if they are from BYU, that they would still be apart of this great show despite possibly being judged by others.

The end. Wink

Good for you.  Sorry to jump to conclusions.  Judgy is pretty common around here, as you probably know.

Would that affect their standing at BYU? Would it put them in danger of being expelled? It seems like it might or something, but I'm not super familiar with the honor code over there, so I'm just curious about it. That's really kind of cool that they'd take a stand and do it anyway. Good for them.

I know exactly zero about the honor code.  But, I think there's only one BYU student in the cast and I think she may be graduating before the show even opens.  I think.

I know Lauren Noll went to BYU, but I'm not sure if she does anymore since she became a lesbian.

I think it has more to do with the fact that she graduated.  Sheesh.

Most would argue that yes, appearing on stage naked WOULD be a direct violation of the BYU honor code subsection 2.

Subsection 2 states: "Students of Brigham Young University, Brigham Young UniversityHawaii, Brigham Young UniversityIdaho, and LDS Business College seek to demonstrate in daily living on and off campus those moral virtues encompassed in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and... will observe the dress and grooming standards..." This reference in the honor code is applied to currently enrolled students, and in no way affects post grads.  Currently enrolled students are to adhere to dress code standards while on or off the university campus.  The dress code standards for the show would involve nudity, and therefore a BYU student must comply with the dress code standards of the university in order to maintain good standing with the university.

It could be argued that a play is extra-curricular and "personal" use of time, therefore the student need not follow the honor code as the play doesn't relate to schooling, but the university would argue that the honor code is a lifestyle binding contract, and is enforced 24/7.

If that is the case, the student may submit a complaint to the university's grievance committee, for instructor and faculty review.

I went to BYU.  This information is all too familiar.
