Is Your Avatar Missing?

I've noticed that a few of you have lost your avatars (at least in Chrome there's a little box with an X where your picture used to be). Likely you were linking to the image from an outside source and it's either been moved, or that source is no longer available.

This newer version of YaBB has a special feature where you can upload your unique avatar image directly to my server. When you update your profile options, look for the Choose File button (be sure to 'uncheck' the option above it, or this won't work):



This will open your file system. Find the image you want to upload and say OK.

You should see this:



Click the Save button at the bottom of that screen, and your new avatar should display in your profile.

Please don't abuse this, or it will be taken away.

If you have a stable source for your avatar image, save space here and keep linking to it.

If you're fine using one of the free avatars already available, you can keep using that.

If you're one to change your avatar every few weeks, there's probably no reason for you to use this feature, as the image being moved just gives you the opportunity to find a new image.

Search

On the upper right of the main page is a Search feature (a box with a magnifying glass next to it). Often on long-running boards such as this one, you want to see if someone else has asked a question or posted what you want to post. Use the search feature to find out.

Please Note, the search feature is sensitive to too many searches from one user. So take a breath between searches or you'll get a warning from the software.
