I am working on a translation of Marcel Pagnol's Fanny, with the thought of producing it here locally in 2010. At this point, I do not have the translation rights, or the production rights, or any idea how to go about getting them.

It is a delightful play, and I think it would play well here in Utah.

Does anyone have any experience along this line, or any advice. It was scheduled for production in Oakland (I think) a year or two ago, but I have not been able to ascertain if it actually came off, and the theater there has not replied to my inquiry.

You might try asking the question to the people who run Pagnol's official web site:

http://en.marcel-pagnol.com/contact.php

They might be able to steer you in the right direction.

My skills are as varied as they are impractical.

Thanks you.  I had not been able to come up with such a website, and I appreciate your steering me to it.

I did also try to contact the original publisher, Fasquelle, but I have had no response from them as yet.

The website gave me Pagnol's son's email, so I have now written to him.  Ca marche, peu a peu.  Et je viens d'achever la traduction.
