Chess in Concert will be aired on PBS in June:

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/128324.html

It's the one with Idina Menzel as Florence, Adam Pascal as Frederick and Josh Groban as Anatoly.

P.S. the article says CDs and DVDs of the concert will also be available for sale this summer.

Has anyone heard any of this? Do they do it justice?

I've heard a bootleg of the one from a few years ago with Julia Murney, Adam Pascal, Josh Groban, and Sutton Foster.

Josh was decent, but really boring. Didn't do anything with the role of Anatoly. Probably hasn't changed much for the newer one.

Adam was AWESOME. His Pity the Child was good enough that it almost made me like the song. ALMOST.

I'm glad they used Idina in place of Julia, because Julia was boring snoring.

ASJHDFKASJDHAS?!! What the eff do you mean, Julia was BORING SNORING?! I saw the bootleg, homes, and Julia was anything but boring snoring. La Murney is amazing, ESPECIALLY considering that she stepped into the role late (the original Florence dropped for some reason).

I've seen YouTube bootlegs of Idina singing the role and it makes me want to cut somebody's heart out. Her dopey ingenue act is old.

(Fun: there's a clip of Julia Murney and Josh Groban practicing the Mountain Duet, and she has to remind him a couple of times to cheat out. It's hilarious.)

If we're going to die, let's die looking like a Peruvian folk band.
