I can't see anyone but an equity house (ie....SLAC, PLAN B or  PIONEER) do this show locally, although I think there are some that will attempt it and do a poor job with it.  I love this show however I don't think there's an audience for it at the other local theatres nor would I ever attempt the school version, If anyone reads the New York Times, you might have seen this article, if not have at it...

Definately or PTC if they wanted to, which I doubt.

Crazy world, full of crazy contradictions like a child; first you drive me wild, and then you win my heart with your wicked art; one minute tender, gentle; then tempramental as a summer storm; just when I believe your heart's getting warmer. Your cold and your cruel, and I like a fool try to cope. Try to hang on to hope. Crazy world, everyday the same old roller coaster ride, but I've got my pride, I won't give in; even though I know I'll never win. Oh how I love this, crazy world! -- Henry Mancini

You're kidding right?

It's like in a Hitchcock movie, you know, where they tie you up in a rubber bag and throw you in the trunk of a car. You find people.

Oh, I WISH this could happen here....can it? ...... I can't be the only one surprised that even the production of Miss Saigon is actually happening here in Utah. OK, that was a sarcastic thought, I know, but I can't help it... I haven't gotten used to what life is like here in Utah. Listen, if someone is actually going to do RENT, then #1 please do it right and make NO changes, and #2 let me know where I can sign up to audition!

Good Luck with that one...unless it's at an Equity House....they'll be begging to change it.  I finally got around to watching to broadway recording and as much as I love the show and would love to see it done around here, I just don't see it happening.  Theatres have to play to their audience, and the majority of theatres in this area (and yes I even think some of Park City) know that their audiences would not appreciate or respond to the show.  It has it's audience and they'd come, but they'd lose some of their base audience, I'm not sure in today's economy they'd be willing to do that.

So, the Park City peeps are okay with full nudity on stage but not the subject matter of Rent?  I am not saying you are wrong- I just would think if they are okay with the fully nude version of Hair they would be okay with Rent.
