It's also airing Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Monday at 1:00 a.m. (that's the one I've got on the TiVo).

SmileyKline's performance was as flexible as ever I've seen. Painting a wide colorful canvas of focus and poignancy as Cyrano. I enjoyed the production for the most part. I seemed to notice several actors wince when J. Garner was going for it. She looked uncomfortable from time to time, unintentionally. Wink

I liked Garner's performance, from what i saw. It took some getting used to, because we're used to seeing her pull it back for the camera, so seeing such a "stagy" performance from her was a little strange. Whereas Kline, a stage actor at heart, plays it big and stagy even when he's on camera, so his terrific performance was pretty much what we're used to.

Overalll, I just thought it was a great production of a great play. I'm glad it's on again so i can see the whole thing.

I'm convinced that at some point in the rehearsal process, somebody said to Jennifer Garner, "It's live theatre.  You have to talk loud."  Once I got used to her, it made for an oddly entertaining performance...until the last scene when her projection pummeled any sensitivity into oblivion.  Fortunately when it matters, the dying Cyrano does most of the speaking.

Kevin Kline, of course, was sublime.
