Define Contrasting... (Read 358 times)

If you perform two contrasting monologues for an audition do they have to be comedic/dramatic?

Or can they be Shakesperean/other?

Loud/soft?

How about a single monologue with a bi-polar or schizophrenic character?

Unless they ask specifically for one classical and one contemporary, I think what they usually want when they say that is dramatic vs. comedic.

Just another POV..... I agree with Spiker on the classical/contemp... otherwise, when I ask for contrast I'm looking for a range of style... Which will, in turn, show me your versatility in general.

I agree with Spiker and Tshep. Is this in regards to a specific audition, or is it just a hypothetical question? Personally, I would never do a Shakespeare monologue for anything but a Shakespeare or equivalent classical piece.
