I don' think Deron was "pimping" at all. I think he was trying to say he hopes the spectacle doesn't try to out shine the performing. Am I right in that assumption Deron?

Your assumption is correct. I know one person in the show and he is the PA. I am in no way promoting the Hale. Simple clarification.

I thought BIG was Awful JUST Awful. I think on both parts.

The acting was over the top, to much Cheese.

The script and music BAD BAD BAD, thus I think the topic of tec stuff. I think it needed to be a spectacle to keep any interest in the show period. It seems there always is at least one show in a season that is this way.
