Title: Weekday Matinees? Post by The Professor on Aug 30th, 2010 at 8:51am
Okay, I need to draw upon the collected wisdom/experience/knowledge base of the room.
A friend of mine asked if there were any local theaters that did weekday matinees (she was looking for an activity for her office). I told her that I didn't know of any, but that I would ask around. So, I'm asking around. Anybody have any useful information? (I wasn't sure if this should go in General Theatere Chat or Local Theatres. Rosie, please feel free to move this as necessary). |

The Children's Theatre does weekday matinees for school groups. However, while these can be very fun, they are kid-oriented shows and probably not quite what she's looking for.
HCTWVC also does weekday school matinees for one show a year, I believe, for what they deem their "educational" show. This year it was 'The Three Musketeers" and, according to the conclusions I've jumped to, will probably be "A Tale of Two Cities" next year. That's all I know of for certain. |

many companies can be "requested" to do a weekday matine as much as they can be "requested" to host a special performance. However, I think the cost would be higher for matines.
