Title: Cottonwood Joseph
Post by sassyjose on Jun 19th, 2010 at 4:47pm
I know there are some in the cast who are here. So let's get this started, yo!!

Awesome first rehearsal today. I had a ball. Cannot wait for the next few weeks. And how about that pro-team? I tell you what it is making it easier to get back on stage after such a long hiatus.

Here and happy to be so. It truly was a great first rehearsal. I think community theater SHOULD be that much fun! Hooray!

I had a great time today too!  I'm so looking forward to the next couple of months, and enjoying every moment of it! :D

Can I be the first to say "I am off book?" I think I have my lines down. (Funny right Rosie?!) But seriously, I have apparently not seen this show in far too long because reading the script has made me say more than once "I do not remember that from the show."

Is there a castlist for this show yet? Just curious.

The last time I participated in a Joseph cast chat, we set records for number of posts in a cast chat.  Challenge, anyone?  Of course, Fred Lee was in our cast, so we had an advantage.  :)  He likes to chat.   ;D

By the way HI Squitch. I love love love your name! How did you ever come up with it? ;)

As a point of interest, I did decide that my ever-so-loving character will be left-handed. Why? Well I think that is why she is so angry at Erma all the time. Not only can Edna sing, but she also is right handed (okay so that point is not really why, I just have always wanted to play a left-handed character!)

Left handed people are brilliant!

Post by Mrs Jughead on Jun 22nd, 2010 at 2:20pm
I am not left handed.  But I may have to learn to be.  I have carpal tunnel and my right hand is often gimpy.  But left handed people are still brilliant!

So one of our adorable kids asked me this week "Why do you always carry around those baby wipes? Do you have a baby?" I said "No, do you?" And I got this look of "Dude you are so dumb!" I actually felt a little old.

You know me, I like germ free!! And those brushes are pretty awesome!!

But then I also like my toenails and one has been sacrificed for the good of the show.

So has anyone else spent the weekend singing the colors? Any time a color (any color) is mentioned around here... people break out in song! [smiley=lolk.gif]

I might be biased (because I have known her for 19 years) but do we have the best choreographer ever?

Who knew all those years in high school when I was making fun of the drill team or cheer leaders (sorry Murphy) that it really hurts to do cheer all day?! Um ... ouch!! Nice little workout Saturday.

So once upon a time I have not been to a rehearsal all week and I came here looking for some good Joseph gossip ... and it has been silent. The cocky part of me assumes that is because the show fell apart without my sparkling personality at rehearsals!! The reality part of me knows better!! hee hee

I cannot wait to be back tomorrow morning. It has been a really long tech week at Birdie, but I think we are ready to open tonight.

What song is stuck in your head today?

Mine is Go, go, Jo. Go, go Jo. Go, go Jo. Go, go, go Joseph you know what they say...

So basically I got my rear kicked last night, and that was only HALF of the Megamix...

Remember when Rosie said some people were turning weird colors that she hadn't seen before the other night?  Yeah, I was one of those people.  My butt is kicked.

I was going to tell everyone  on Saturday, mostly because I have been so dehydrated lately, that Smith's has Gatoraid on sale this week (until Tuesday) if you buy 10 of them (or combined with a few other items involved in this sale) you get $5 off at the register. It makes the 32 ounce Gatoraid $0.49 each I think.

As one of those who was exhausted after the first MegaMix rehearsal I felt much better Saturday!!! Just FYI

We have one incredibly talented cast; you have all learned so much choreography in the last three weeks that it blows my mind! Way to go, go, go!

I was so tired last night I fell into bed and was asleep before my head hit my gargantuan pilla. This morning I am still kind of tired. In fact I was driving to work today and had the thought "Did I brush my teeth today?" then immediately started thinking "left K, right L, left diag, low post" etc.

Oh the MM rehearsal went so well! We ran it like 10 times and cleaned cleaned cleaned!! It looks amazing. A few things changed, but the majority of it is the same just cleaner.

p.s. I like your name because it makes me think of Penny from Dr Horrible... that is just how I roll...

I agree the MM looks amazing! I wanted to get up and dance it with you, which is exactly what I'll be doing today of course. You all look like you're having so much fun. It's the party Murphy wants it to be, and not a chore we treated it like earlier. Great jorb everybody!

ps. Thanks, Sassy! It's nice to be here, and nice to know you smile when you see my name  :)

HAPPY TECH/OPENING WEEK, FOLKS!

This is the conversation I just had with my mom:

"Steph you looked really good on the news this morning. I mean REALLY good."
"You sound surprised that I looked good."
"No not at all, just... well you are wearing makeup!"

She said we all looked great and sounded amazing.
Congrats everyone!!

They finally put the review up  :)

As I suspected, the editor made some changes from the draft the reviewer sent Mrs. Jughead, but it's still a good review!

Way to go everyone!
