Title: Broadway Tix Help!
Post by ThursdayNext on Dec 28th, 2007 at 7:00pm
I'm going to be heading to New York in a few months. Where are the cheapest places to get tickets ahead of time? I'm not crazy for the idea of waiting until the last minute rush tickets when I'm there

Go to Playbill.com and register.  They always have special ticket pricing.  I think you just call the box office with the code #.  It will explain the rules for each show.  It depends on what you want to see - some shows are sold out so you have to get student rush or standing room only.  Playbill.com lists all the shows playing and you can check ticket availablility for most shows.  Best price is at TKTS but the seats aren't the best and you have to wait in line.

Have fun!

Hey, LGA.  Should we make this topic sticky since this is a question that gets asked a lot?

This is a pretty late reply, but me and my brother bought tickets from the TKTS booth at the Southstreet Sea Port in Manhattan.  We essentially walked in, bought tickets, and walked out in less than 5 minutes.  We ended up with sixth-row orchestra seats to Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me.  So if you're looking for discounted tickets with no wait, the Southstreet Sea Port TKTS booth is the way to go.  Most tour buses make a stop at this location.
