Youth Showcase: Be the Hero of Your Story

The Sandy Arts Guild is sponsoring a Performing Arts Summer School taught by Jen Wilhite and Ashley Stonebraker. It is for youth 6-18 years and is taught at Mount Jordan Middle School, Sandy.  Part one teaches basic auditioning skills and gives an overview of design elements and technical aspects involved with a theatrical production. It is June 11-13; 9 AM – 12 noon and costs $20. Part two is for participants who demonstrate the maturity, discipline and focus needed for a 3-hour daily rehearsal during the previous week. Part Two is as a 2-week, 3-hour-a-day rehearsal course that culminates in a performance. Participation in Part One is required. Rehearsals for Part Two are weekday mornings, from 9 am to 12 noon, from June 15 – 29. There is a mandatory tech rehearsal on Thursday, June 28, 6-9 pm.  The performance is Friday, June 29 at 7:00 pm. The cost for Part Two is $80. Please note: A parent needs to serve on a committee of choice or help with cast supervision as part of the program.
