The Full Monty

“THE FULL MONTY” AUDITION NOTICE

The Ziegfeld Theater announces open auditions for the bold and inspiring musical “The Full Monty”, Directed and choreographed by Mindy Young, Music Directed by Kyle Lawrence.

PERFORMANCES: Ogden performances at The Ziegfeld Theater are May 4-19 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM with a Saturday matinee on May 12 at 2:00 PM. Park City performances at The Egyptian Theatre are May 24 – June 3, Thursdays – Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 6:00 PM. PERFORMERS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PERFORMANCES.

ROLES: Seeking strong singer-actors who move well. All roles available. Aged 21+ only, please. This production contains male nudity. Colorblind casting – actors of ALL races and skin color are HIGHLY encouraged to audition. Roles detailed below.

AUDITIONS: Thurs. January 25, 6-10 PM – By appointment only. To schedule your audition, go to ZigArts.com and click “Audition.” Invitation only callbacks will be held Sat.  January 27 at 10:00 AM.

***If you are absolutely unavailable to audition on these dates, let us know as soon as possible so that we may arrange an alternate audition time for you, if possible.***

LOCATION: Ziegfeld Arts Academy – 2440 E 6600 S, in Uintah (at the intersection of US-84 and US-89, behind Pitcher Sports and Best Western)

 

PREPARE: For the audition, bring a printed copy of your resume and a headshot or recent picture. Prepare a 30-60 second selection from a Broadway musical in the style of the show. Sheet music is required; accompanist provided.

 

***Please no CD’s, mp3’s, or a cappella auditions. You are welcome to sing a selection from the show, but please bring a second, contrasting audition selection from a different musical (which we may or may not ask you to sing).***

 

REHEARSALS will begin the second week of February and will usually be held at the Ziegfeld Arts Academy. Rehearsals for this production will be Thursday-Friday evenings and Saturday-Sunday mornings from 10-2. Some additional weekday evening music rehearsals will likely be scheduled throughout.

Jerry Lukowski

An unemployed mill worker, fighting to maintain his pride and the custody of his only son. All-American jock and the definitive man’s man. Spontaneous. Very prideful.

Pam Lukowski

Jerry’s estranged wife and high school sweetheart. She wants what is best for her son. Strong business woman, but also compassionate and motherly.

Dave Bukatinsky

Jerry’s best friend and fellow unemployed mill worker. Very much a man’s man, but more of a follower than leader. The definitive sidekick. Prideful. Self-conscious about his size.

Georgie Bukatinsky

Dave’s wife. She loves her husband, and worries about him. Loud, outgoing and brash. She is the “leader” of her group of girlfriends.

Harold Nichols

An unemployed supervisor at the mill. Hot Metal’s choreographer. Thinks his worth comes from providing for his wife, so he hides his unemployment from her.

Harold’s wife. She enjoys the finer things in life. Loves her husband more than anything, and supports him no matter what.

An unemployed mill worker. Lives at home with his mother. Depressed, suicidal, awkward, and feeble. Pigeon-chested. Finds comfort in Ethan.

Ethan Girard

An unemployed mill worker. Lonely. Has a blind determination and confidence to succeed. Finds company with Malcolm.

A retired mill worker. Embarrassed about being an “average sized” Black man. Despite being old and slow when walking, he still has explosive dance moves. Frequently grumpy.

Jeanette Burmeister

A piano player of indeterminate years and show-business pro. Sassy, quick-witted, and larger than life. Has slowed down in recent years.
